PCIH³ Institute

The Institute studies the researcher who thinks with artificial intelligence, and the conditions under which that partnership extends, rather than replaces, human intellectual work.

720° innovation

If 360° innovation covers every angle of a problem, the Institute proposes doubling it in two complementary readings. The first adds extension and depth: breadth across domains and the synthesis that emerges from within each. The second adds human and machine: the researcher’s repertoire, critique and responsibility, multiplied by the speed and synthesising capacity of artificial intelligence.

The cyborg profile, in the sense of the centaur

The Institute does not take the cyborg as an undifferentiated fusion of human and machine, but as the centaur: human intellectual control over a tool of extended power. Productive and ethically defensible use of AI requires a formed subject, with a settled repertoire, critical capacity and an authorial voice, who uses the machine as an exoskeleton for their own capacities.

Aims

Governance

AI is a tool under human direction. It receives neither authorship nor responsibility; decisions and authorisations are always human. The Institute’s work declares its sources, distinguishes what a source says from what is inferred or proposed by analogy, and keeps the author’s review before any publication.

Collaboration

The Institute is open to research partnerships with universities, research centres, public bodies and companies, and to jointly preparing proposals for funding calls.Get in touch.
